A Time for Everything
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:
a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot,
a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,
a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,
a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,
a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,
a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.
Life’s seasons are characterized in many different ways, and throughout each season God has something to teach us. Ecclesiastes 3 is one of my favorite chapter of the bible, it always reminds me that nothing in this word is eternal: neither the pleasant nor the unpleasant experiences. It comforts me with the knowledge that bad times will never last, but at the same time humbles me with the idea that the good times also are limited. This has been my constant reminder, especially during my emotional ping pong times. It taught me to always look on the positive side of every circumstance. Nothing in this universe is permanent. The ups and downs come and go, the twists and turns never last and even the most agonizing times will eventually pass. I believe God has a purpose in what He does though sometimes it’s beyond my understanding. God has set everything. He made everything beautiful in his time.
